It’s too late and I’m too tired to think who this actually sounds like but I do know it’s brilliant. Maybe a bit Into It Over It meets This Town Needs Guns.

I’m currently sifting through the bands from the first Stay Sweet announcement. I like Dowsing but I haven’t given them enough time in the past. This EP from last year is bloody brilliant. 90s emo walks hand in hand with a beautiful array of twinkles and jangles.
RIYL: The Get Up Kids, Mineral, The World Is A Beautiful Place…

This is as exciting as the moment I heard Fireworks or Hit The Lights for the first time. An unabashed urgency clashes with youthful exhuberance creating a sound that is unbelievably catchy. I am moshing so hard.
RIYL: Fireworks, Hit The Lights, Crosstown Rivalry

On first listen this isn’t as good as either the Seahaven or Balance and Composure albums but the first song did totally smash me in the face. This album will get a lot of repeat listens this year. If you’re in to the aforementioned bands you’ll probably enjoy this
RIYL: Balance and composure, Seahaven, Tigers Jaw

This is the ex guitarist of The Story So Far. I’m not too sure why he left but he’s created some lush acoustic ditties. Parker who sings in TSSF also provides some vocals here so there’s obviously no ill feeling or anything.
RIYL: Heartfelt acoustic outpourings

This video contains a two faced kitten. This special cat doesn’t show it’s love to you and then flip you off to its cat friends. It actually just has two faces. Mental.

This is a brilliant split ep between two brothers. It sounds a bit like if Evan Weiss (IIOI) suddenly went all Dashboard on us. Rather than being an emo cry fest it just sounds utterly wonderful and joyous (Most of the time anyway).
RIYL: Into It Over It, Dashboard Confessional, Owen.
The first batch of bands for Stay Sweet got announced today and the line up is pretty awesome so far. STATE LINES ARE BLOODY PLAYING. Signals Midwest are a brilliant band who have a lot of heart and inventiveness. I’m way too tired to think what bands they sound like but you should give em a listen. For me it was INSTANT love!

I really really really like this. I don’t have much to say about it other than it’s far from a shambles to my ears. For once I can’t place exactly who it sounds like. I do get a bit of a Junior Battles vibe at times though.
RIYL: Fest bands.

I’m only giving this a proper listen now. WHAT A BLOODY GREAT ALBUM. This is silly, pretty, loud, epic and you just want to sing along to everything.
RIYL: Into It, Over It, The World Is A Beautiful Place, CSTVT, Arcade Fire
